Education natisni E-pošta
In various training programmes,  we improve the knowledge of a specific subject matter and develop competences, which our employees  need to efficiently face the future challenges in business.

In 2010, our primary focus was on the following areas:  in Tourism – development of management skills and coaching, public appearance skills, further development of sales skills, encouraging innovation, foreign language and computer science classes, acquisition of specialist knowledge in individual professional fields; in Rubber Manufacturing – broadening  the advanced specialist knowledge provided by foreign lecturers and internal transfer of rubber manufacturing know-how in the framework of the rubber manufacturing school. A lecture about the efficient way out of the economic crisis was organised for the Directors' Council; at several business conferences, we hosted lecturers who presented good practice cases from the sales area and assertive communication skills. Furthermore, managers were educated about the psychosomatic stress factors.

In October 2010, 15 associates from the Sava Group joined the training programme about the preparation of a business plan under the framework of the Sava Academy. During this training, which takes several months, the participants draw up business plans, and, considering the specifics of a respective business plan, this can later be introduced in the operations.
Our associates in Tourism were rewarded for their above-average contribution in innovation or their results achieved in extra sales of products and services: this reward was a tour of some best practice cases either abroad or in Slovenia.

In 2010 too, we participated in numerous calls for proposals to receive financing from EU funds and were successful in some of them. Under the framework of the Leonardo da Vinci mobility project, our specialists continue to participate in one-week exchanges abroad to refine their practical knowledge, which they immediately transferred to their daily routine.  In the health promotion projects we co-financed together with the Health Insurance Institute of Slovenia various training courses for developing communications skills and human relations to address the sick leaves issue.  Our associates in Tourism were encouraged to register in the Knowledge Makes Dreams Come True project, which offered foreign language and computer science courses.  To promote the personal growth of every employee, a longer lasting training called  My Working Place was organised by Rubber Manufacturing in cooperation with the Jesenice Community Centre; the course was co-financed by the European funds of the European Social Fund and the Ministry of Education and Sport.  Rubber Manufacturing continues the Leonardo da Vinci mobility project, called E-Rubber Validation, under the framework of which the treasury of rubber manufacturing knowledge will be complemented by using  an electronic learning  portal and transferring the obtained knowledge to the working process.

In selecting other subject matters to address in the educational and training process, we particularly focused on learning foreign languages in a traditional and electronic manner, or a combination of both. Furthermore, we devoted much time to communication skills, values, team spirit, the so-called soft skills, and numerous other specialist training courses in various fields.

In 2010,  52 training hours per employee were made on average. A sum of €148 per employee was invested in training. We support and finance formal and informal education. In 2010, 87 employees studied part-time,  which was co-financed by our companies.

On the occasion of the 10th Educational Management  conference, the educational company Planet GV and the Sofos Educational Management Institute  awarded ten Slovene companies, which invest major  funds in education and have a systematic approach to education and training. The purpose of this award ceremony is to introduce the best Slovene companies, which systematically invest in knowledge, and to encourage an even faster development of educational practice and enhance the reputation of educational function. For the fifth year in a row, the Sava Group ranked best in the respective field.
